Old-Fashioned All-Day Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. dry navy beans, soaked overnight in water to cover and drained
  • 1 lb. salt pork, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and diced
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a 2-quart bean pot or a 2- to 3-quart casserole dish. Cover and bake at 300°F for 6 hours.
