Serves: 10

  • 1⁄3 cup butter, melted
  • 1⁄2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1⁄2 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1⁄4 tsp. salt
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9 inches)

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • In a bowl, combine the melted butter, corn syrups, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, eggs, and nuts. Beat until well blended. Pour the pecan mixture into the pastry shell.
  • Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375°F and bake for 45 to 50 minutes longer. To test for doneness, shake the pie gently; it should be firm near the edges but slightly jiggly in the center. Let cool on a rack before serving.
