Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup butter, softened
  • 1¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1¼ cups orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. grated orange zest
  • ¼ cups confectioners’ sugar

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 9" × 13" cake pan.
  • In a bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, eggs, flour, baking soda, orange juice, and the orange zest until blended. Beat for 3 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Smooth the top.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 25 minutes. Dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
