Freshly squeezed orange juice is the key for this drink. Texas sweet oranges are great for this recipe.

- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- 2 cups orange juice
- ⅛ tsp. salt
- 1 cup crushed ice
- Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir over the heat until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Combine sugar syrup, orange juice, salt and ice in a blender and blend until smooth.
