Oven-Roasted Spareribs

This very simple preparation lets the flavor of the spareribs truly shine. If the simple flavor won’t make your diners happy, feel free to brush on 2 cups of barbecue sauce during the last 30 minutes of cooking time.

  • 4 lbs. spareribs
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Season the spareribs with salt and pepper on all sides.
  • Place the ribs in a large skillet in the middle of the oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Turn them over and bake for another 30 minutes. If the ribs aren’t crispy on the outside, increase the heat to 425°F and bake for 10 minutes. Serve while warm.
