Paleo Apple Butter

Depending on when you start this recipe, it can take up to 2 days to complete, but it is great for giving an autumn-like feel to just about any side dish, main entrée, dessert, or even a hot or iced beverage.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
  • ½ Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup honey
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves

Directions

  • Place apples and vanilla extract in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Mash apples with a fork. Stir in honey, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. Allow to cool at room temperature, or in refrigerator for 2 hours. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
