Pan-Fried Steak with Italian Pesto

The actual cooking time for this dish will depend on how well done you like your steak. For rare, cook to 130°F–140°F; for medium, cook to 135°F–145°F; and for well done, cook to 155°F and above.

  • 2 tsp. lemon-pepper seasoning
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 4 beef tenderloin steaks (1 lb.)
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ cup pesto


  • Rub lemon-pepper seasoning and salt over the steaks. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks to the pan and cook to medium (135°F–145°F), about 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through cooking.
  • Serve the steaks with a spoonful of pesto on top.
