  • 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  • 1⁄2 cup butter, softened
  • 1⁄2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1⁄2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 24 chocolate candy kisses

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer set on medium speed, beat together the butter and peanut butter until smooth. Beat in 1⁄2 cup granulated sutar and brown sugar until blended, then beat in the egg and vanilla. Reduce the speed to low. Add the flour mixture, beating well.
  • Shape the dough into 3⁄4-inch balls. Roll in the remaining granulated sugar to coat and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from the oven and quickly press a piece of chocolate candy firmly into the top of each cookie. (The cookies will crack around the edges.) Remove from the baking sheet and let cool on paper towels on a counter top.
