Serves: 8

  • 1 package (12 oz.) fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup pinot noir wine
  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • Combine cranberries, sugar, wine, and cinnamon stick in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, lower heat to medium-low, and simmer until the cranberries pop, about 10 minutes. As soon as they pop, use a slotted spoon to transfer the cranberries to a bowl.
  • Continue to simmer the wine mixture until it thickens slightly, about 10 minutes more. Pour the liquid over the cranberries. Serve warm or at room temperature.
