- 5 lbs. whole chicken or chicken parts
- 1 large carrot, peeled
- 1 stalk celery
- 1 medium onion, peeled and quartered
- 1 cup water
- Place the chicken into an oval 6-quart slow cooker. Arrange the vegetables around the chicken. Add the water. Cook on low for 8 hours.
- Remove the skin and slice, chop, or shred as needed.
