These poached figs are perfect for a snack or dessert.

- ½ cup water
- ½ cup apple juice
- 2 tsp. honey
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split
- 1 orange, sliced
- 8 oz. fresh figs
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, apple juice, honey, sugar, and vanilla bean. Heat through until hot but not boiling, about 5 minutes.
- Place the oranges and figs into a 2-quart slow cooker. Pour hot water/apple juice mixture over them. Cook on low for 5 hours or until the figs are cooked through and starting to split.
- Remove the figs from the poaching liquid and serve with ice cream.
