Poached Pear Sorbet

This is a great way to save leftover poached pears.

  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1⁄4 cup water
  • 3 cups poached pear purée
  • 1⁄4 cup lemon juice


  • Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and heat just until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and chill.
  • Combine chilled sugar syrup, pear purée, and lemon juice.
  • Freeze in an ice-cream freezer according to manufacturer’s instructions.
