Pork Burgers with Apples

You can do these on the grill or on the frying pan with a skim of oil. One apple provides enough natural fructose for four people.

  • 1 medium green apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  • 1⁄2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 lb. lean ground pork


  • Using a fork, lightly blend all ingredients together.
  • Heat grill to high. Form meat and apple mixture into burgers. Sear quickly, turn heat to low, and cook for 5 minutes per side.
