Prosciutto-Wrapped Figs Stuffed with Blue Cheese

The Greeks and Romans considered the fig to be an aphrodisiac, and consequently ate a lot of ʼem! These are smoky, sweet, earthy, and luxurious all at the same time.

Ingredients

  • 8 medium ripe green or black figs, trimmed
  • 8 tsp. blue cheese
  • 8 strips prosciutto

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 475°F.
  • Cut the tip off a fig and cut a small cross in the top. Insert a teaspoon of blue cheese in the middle of the cross. Wrap a strip of prosciutto around the fig and secure it with a toothpick. Repeat with the remaining figs.
  • Place the wrapped figs in an ovenproof dish. Roast for about 8 minutes or until the prosciutto begins to crisp and some cheese oozes out. Let cool for 1 minute before serving.
