Ras Al Hanout

In Arabic, Ras Al Hanout means “top of the shop” and refers to a spice ownerʼs special blend of best spices. Itʼs an essential Moroccan spice mix and some versions have upward of 20 or even 30 ingredients. Try it rubbed on lamb or beef.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp. ground mace
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. ground allspice
  • 1 tsp. ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp. hot paprika

Directions

  • Combine all the spices and stir until thoroughly mixed. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
