Restaurant-Style Pico de Gallo
Pico de gallo, or beak of the rooster, is a simple and classic salsa. Eat it as a dip with tortilla chips or as a condiment for tacos, burritos, or grilled meat. It's best eaten when it is freshly-made.

- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1⁄2 cup diced red onion
- 1 finely-diced jalapeño pepper (seeds removed for mild)
- 1⁄8 cup roughly chopped cilantro leaves
- 1⁄2 tsp. salt
- 1⁄4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1⁄4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. white vinegar
- In a medium bowl, stir together tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño. Add the cilantro, salt, pepper, garlic powder, oil, and vinegar and mix gently.
