Rosie’s Pizza Sauce

Homemade pizza sauce is delicious, and it’s nice to be able to control what goes on your pizza.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp. freshly ground pepper

Directions

  • In a small saucepan, combine olive oil and onion; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Add all remaining ingredients and cook, stirring frequently, over low heat until thickened, about 15 minutes. Use as directed in a pizza recipe, or store, covered, in refrigerator up to 5 days.
