Serves: 12
Ingredients
- 16 oz. Mild Pork Sausage Roll, formed into 12 patties
- 3 tbsp. butter, divided
- 8 large eggs, beaten
- 1 package (16 oz.) Hawaiian Dinner Rolls, split horizontally
- 12 slices Yellow American Cheese
- 1 tbsp. maple syrup
Directions
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Cook sausage patties in a skillet over medium heat. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping once, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Drain on a paper towel lined plate.
- Wipe the pan clean. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-low heat; add eggs. Cook, gently scraping the bottom of the pain, until eggs are soft set.
- Place bottom half of rolls on a lightly sprayed rimmed baking pan. Layer 6 slices cheese, cook sausage patties, eggs and remaining cheese. Cover with top of rolls.
- In a small microwave safe bowl melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Mix in maple syrup. Brush butter mixture over top of rolls.
- Bake 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted and buns are crisp. Cut into individual sandwiches before serving.
- Refrigerate leftovers.
- Tip: If making ahead, cover pan with foil after brushing the sandwiches with butter and refrigerate. Pull the pan out of the refrigerator while pre-heating the oven. Bake covered for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes to crisp the buns.
