Sautéed Apple Pancake Topping

In addition to a delicious pancake topping, this is also a great ice cream topping!

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 cups chopped apple
  • 2 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup water


  • In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat (do not allow to brown) and sauté the apples 2 to 3 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and water. Add to the apples, reduce heat to low, and continue cooking an additional 2 or 3 minutes. Apples should be tender but remain firm.
