Sesame Green Beans

Crunchy green beans and sesame are seasoned with sesame oil for this vegetarian side dish. Leftovers will stand up with a shot of lemon juice or vinegar.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh green beans
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1⁄2 tsp. salt
  • 1⁄4 tsp. pepper
  • 1⁄4 cup sesame seeds

Directions

  • Trim the stem ends off the green beans.
  • Add the green beans to boiling water and cook them for 5 minutes. Drain the beans and plunge them into ice water. Drain them again.
  • Heat a sauté pan over medium heat and add the sesame oil to it. Sauté the beans in the sesame oil for 3 minutes.
  • Season the beans with salt and pepper and sprinkle the sesame seeds over them. Serve hot.
