Sesame Seed Cookies

These delicate cookies are a type of lace cookie, full of delicious and fiber-rich sesame seeds. The seeds add a touch of protein. These cookies are also elegant enough for dessert, topped with a low-fat ice cream.

  • 4 1⁄2 tsp. honey
  • 1 1⁄2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1⁄2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1⁄8 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. flour


  • Stir the honey, butter, powdered sugar, and water together in a saucepan. Turn the heat to medium and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute and remove from heat. Stir in the sesame seeds, salt, and flour. Let cool.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll the cookie dough into balls, and place them 4 inches apart from each other on the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8 minutes, then let cool on racks.
