  • 1⁄4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 1⁄2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1⁄2 tsp. fennel seeds, crushed
  • 1⁄2 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. minced shallots


  • Add the vinegar, lemon juice, mustard, olive oil, fennel seeds, and pepper to a covered jar. Shake well until the mixture is emulsified. (Alternatively, add the ingredients to a blender or a food processor and process until mixed.) Add the shallots and shake again.
