Simple Fruit Compote

Featuring various summer fruits, this simple light dessert makes the perfect finale to a rich evening meal.

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 2 Tbsp. Ruby port or Madeira
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice


  • Wash and hull the strawberries. Rinse the blueberries and raspberries and dry on paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, combine the port, sugar, and lemon juice. Toss the fruit with the mixture. Chill, covered, in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • Spoon the fruit into individual dessert bowls.
