Simple Grilled Flank Steak

A delicious flank steak needs nothing more than salt and pepper. The secret to tender meat is cutting it on the diagonal.

  • 1 1⁄2 lbs. flank steak
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil


  • Prepare grill. Rub the meat all over with salt, pepper, and olive oil.
  • Place on the grill for 5 to 6 minutes, each side. Remove from the grill, cover, and let the meat rest for 5 minutes.
  • After the meat has rested, slice it into thin slices on the diagonal. Serve immediately.
