Simple Vanilla Ice Cream

The quintessential ice cream flavor, this quick and easy recipe is perfect for times when you are yearning for ice cream but don’t want to spend a lot of time making it. Often, you’ll see this type of eggless ice cream labeled as Philadelphia style.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp. salt

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat. Do not allow to boil. Whisk continuously to combine. Remove from heat once sugars are dissolved.
  • Allow to cool in refrigerator.
  • Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing.
