Simple Vanilla Ice Cream
The quintessential ice cream flavor, this quick and easy recipe is perfect for times when you are yearning for ice cream but don’t want to spend a lot of time making it. Often, you’ll see this type of eggless ice cream labeled as Philadelphia style.

- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp. salt
- Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat. Do not allow to boil. Whisk continuously to combine. Remove from heat once sugars are dissolved.
- Allow to cool in refrigerator.
- Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing.
