Simply Better Yellow Cake
This recipe is great for a cake that requires you to pour your concentration into decoration. It’s simple, reliable, and lovely. Substitute other cake mix flavors for variety.

- 1 box (18.25 oz.) yellow cake mix plus ingredients called for on box (except water)
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
- Preheat oven according to cake mix instructions. Grease and flour 2 round cake pans (8"). Set aside.
- Mix batter according to package instructions, substituting whole milk for water and adding the extra egg with the other eggs.
- Using an electric mixer set to medium speed, beat batter until it is smooth and entirely lump-free. Pour batter into cake pan. Bake according to instructions.
