This classic American "loose meat" sandwich is a quick and easy meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • ¼ cup diced celery
  • ¼ cup diced green bell pepper
  • ¼ cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. ketchup
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 6 hamburger buns

Directions

  • In a frying pan, brown the ground beef 10 minutes or until no longer pink. Drain and discard the fat. Set aside the cooked beef.
  • Sauté onion, celery, bell peppers, and garlic in the oil until onion and celery are translucent, about 8 minutes. Stir in the ground beef, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Cook 5 minutes until warmed through.
  • Serve hot on hamburger buns.
