Slow-Cooker Breakfast Quinoa with Fruit

You can also add dried fruit to this dish. Experiment with a few different kinds and see which you like best!

  • 1 cup quinoa, rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups water
  • 1⁄2 packed cup dark brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1⁄4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1⁄8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup fresh fruit of your choice


  • Stir together all the ingredients in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cook for 2 1⁄2 hours on high or about 4 hours on low, or until the quinoa has absorbed most of the liquid and is light and fluffy. Top with fresh fruit and serve.
