Slow Cooker Breakfast Risotto

Serve this like you would cooked oatmeal: topped with additional brown sugar, raisins or other dried fruit, and milk. You can also add diced fresh apples to the slow cooker for a highly nutritious breakfast.

  • 1⁄4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1⁄2 cups Arborio rice
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄8 tsp. freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1⁄8 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1⁄4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 3 cups milk


  • Add the butter and rice to the slow cooker; stir to coat the rice in the butter.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 9 hours or until the rice is cooked through.
