Slow Cooker Green Tea with Orange and Mint

Make a big batch of green tea with oranges and fresh mint leaves in a slow cooker. This would be lovely to serve at a brunch for non-coffee drinkers, or any time.

Ingredients

  • 6 oranges
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup agave nectar
  • 2 quarts water
  • 4 bags (4 Tbsp.) green tea

Directions

  • Using a vegetable peeler, remove the peel of 1 orange in long, vertical strips. Place peels in a 4-quart slow cooker. Cut all 6 oranges in quarters and add to the slow cooker with the mint leaves, sugar, agave nectar, and water. Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours. Add tea bags to slow cooker and steep for 5 minutes.
  • Using tongs, remove the orange peels and place 1 in each mug. Remove tea bags and pour the tea through a strainer. Pour strained tea into mugs with orange peel and serve hot.
