Slow-Cooker Pear Butter
Enjoy pear season all year long! Drizzle over some fresh fruit salad for a sweet addition to a traditional breakfast favorite.

- 8 pears of any variety, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 cups water
- ¾ cup honey
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 whole star anise
- ¼ tsp. ground ginger
- ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
- Place all the ingredients in a 6-quart slow cooker, cover, and cook on low for 12 hours.
- Uncover and cook on low for an additional 12 hours, until thick and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Allow to cool and remove the star anise before puréeing in a blender. Store in airtight canning jars.
