Slow-Fried Tofu

Use the tofu in this recipe as a basis for other dishes!

  • 1 block firm tofu (12.3 oz.)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil


  • Press the tofu for 1 hour by wrapping in cheese cloth and weighing down with a heavy pan. Cut into cubes.
  • Add the oil to a preheated wok and heat to 350°F. When the oil is hot, add the tofu. Fry until the cubes turn a golden brown. (This will take about 10 minutes.) Add more oil if necessary. Drain the fried tofu on paper towels.
