Spiced Cherry Cranberry Sauce
This sauce is delicious over cakes, custards and fresh fruit

- 1 can (14.5 oz.) tart cherries, undrained
- 1 cup cranberries
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp. ground cloves
- ⅛ tsp. ground ginger
- ⅛ tsp. salt
- In a small saucepan, combine cherries and their juice with cranberries and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, combine cornstarch with lemon juice. Add to pan with cherries and cook, stirring, until sauce is translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt.
- Remove sauce from heat and serve warm. Store sauce, covered, in refrigerator up to 5 days.
