Spicy Cajun Rub

This is delicious— a dry mixture of spices to rub on poultry, fish, or meat to add flavor and heat! After rubbing in, let stand 1 hour before grilling.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp. hot paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. onion powder
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. dry English mustard
  • 1 tsp. anise seeds, bruised in a mortar and pestle
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

  • In a small bowl, mix all ingredients together. Use immediately or store in a cool dry place.
