Strawberries in Vanilla Sauce

- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- ½ cup whipping cream
- 1½ tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 pint strawberries, sliced
- Combine the sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Cook for 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat.
- Stir in the cream and vanilla and beat for about 2 minutes, or until the sauce is smooth. Pour the warm sauce over the strawberries, divided among individual bowls.
