Strawberries in Vanilla Sauce

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1⁄2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced


  • Combine the sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Cook for 5 minutes, or until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat.
  • Stir in the cream and vanilla and beat for about 2 minutes, or until the sauce is smooth. Pour the warm sauce over the strawberries, divided among individual bowls.
