Sweet Cocoa Sauce

This cocoa sauce can be served over everything: from fresh fruit to cake or sherbet.

  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract


  • In a small saucepan, combine cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar and mix well. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Boil for 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.
