Sweet-and-Sour Dipping Sauce

To turn this into a stir-fry sauce, simply don’t cook it and use as called for in a stir-fry recipe. Stir the sauce before adding to the stir-fry to bring up any cornstarch that has settled on the bottom.

  • 3⁄4 cup water
  • 1⁄2 cup pineapple juice
  • 3 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch


  • Combine the water, pineapple juice, ketchup, sugar, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly.
  • Use the dipping sauce immediately or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
