Sweet and Sour Sauce with Tomato Paste

  • ⅔ cup pineapple juice
  • ⅓ cup red wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. red food coloring


  • Warm the pineapple juice and red wine vinegar in a small saucepan on low heat. Add the sugar, stirring to dissolve. Add the tomato paste and bring to a boil, stirring to make a smooth sauce. Stir in red food coloring if using. Keep warm on low heat until ready to serve.
