Sweet and Sour Sauce with Tomato Paste
This sauce makes a flavorful addition to chicken and pork fondues cooked in oil.

- ⅔ cup pineapple juice
- ⅓ cup red wine vinegar
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup tomato paste
- 1 tsp. red food coloring
- Warm the pineapple juice and red wine vinegar in a small saucepan on low heat. Add the sugar, stirring to dissolve. Add the tomato paste and bring to a boil, stirring to make a smooth sauce. Stir in red food coloring if using. Keep warm on low heat until ready to serve.
