Classic Sweet Tea is a must at every Tex-Mex gathering. The sugar is dissolved in hot water, making a simple syrup, and is added to the tea while still warm for the best flavor.

- 6 Tbsp. loose tea leaves
- 3 cups cold water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 gallon container of water
- 2 lemons, cut in wedges
- Place tea leaves in a tea ball or strainer. In medium saucepan, combine cold water and sugar and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Add the tea ball and remove from heat. Let steep for 25–35 minutes, then remove tea ball.
- Pour mixture into gallon container and add enough cold water to fill the container. Cover and refrigerate up to 2 days. Serve with lemon wedges.
