Tex-Mex Hot Chocolate

Instead of regular marshmallows, coat mini marshmallows in cinnamon sugar to add even more flavor. Let them melt in the hot drink.

  • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • ⅛ tsp. chili powder
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 5 cups whole milk
  • 12 marshmallows


  • In heavy saucepan, combine condensed milk, syrup, and chocolate chips over medium heat. Cook and stir until chocolate melts and mixture blends. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients using a wire whisk.
  • Return saucepan to medium heat and cook, stirring constantly with wire whisk, until mixture begins to bubble around the edges. Serve hot topped with marshmallows.
