Thai Iced Tea (Cha Yen)
The orange color of the tea comes from food coloring in the tea mix. In the old days, the color was not so intense, and it came from crushed tamarind seeds mixed in with the tea leaves.

- 5 Tbsp. Thai tea mix
- 8 cups boiling water
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 8 cups ice
- Brew tea with boiling water for 8 minutes. Strain. Stir in sugar until dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
- Pour tea into glasses filled with ice. Stir 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk into each glass.
