Thai-Inspired Beefsteak

Sirloin works great in this recipe. You can use bone-in steak with this recipe as well. If you do, get 2 pounds.

Serves: 4Hands-on: 20 minutesTotal: 2 hours 20 minutesDifficulty: Easy

Serves: 4

  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 tsp. five-spice powder
  • 1 tsp. mirin
  • 1 Tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Thai chili paste
  • 1 1⁄2 lbs. boneless beefsteak
  • 1⁄4 cup toasted sesame seeds

  • Mix together the honey, five-spice powder, mirin, lime juice, and chili paste to make a marinade. Brush the marinade on the steak and let rest, refrigerated and covered, for 2 hours.
  • Set grill to high heat.
  • Grill 4 minutes per side for rare, 6 for medium, and 8 for well done. Timing depends on the thickness of the steak and whether there is a bone or not. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
