  • 1 1⁄2 cups tomato purée


  • Preheat oven to 300°F. Pour purée into an ovenproof skillet.
  • Bake uncovered about 2 hours, stirring every 20 minutes until it reaches a paste-like consistency.
  • Let cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days or in the freezer for several months.
