Turnip Chili Fries

Look for small- to medium-sized turnips. Larger turnips tend to have a coarse texture with a bitter, woody taste, while smaller turnips are sweeter and more tender.

Ingredients

  • 4 small turnips, peeled and cut into 2" sticks
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. chili powder

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Place turnip sticks on a foil-lined baking pan. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and chili powder over turnips and toss.
  • Spread out in a single layer. Bake in the oven 15 minutes, flip fries over, and then bake another 15 minutes. Serve warm.
