Turnip Fries

Turnips are often overlooked at the supermarket, but they make a great alternative to carbohydrate-loaded potatoes when making fries.

Ingredients

  • 2 large turnips, peeled and cut into (2") sticks
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. black pepper
  • ½ cup mayonnaise

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Place turnip sticks on foil-lined baking pan. Sprinkle olive oil, salt, and pepper over turnips and toss to coat.
  • Spread out in a single layer. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, flip fries over, and then bake for another 15 minutes. Serve warm with mayonnaise for dipping.
