Vegan Whole-Wheat Sandwich Loaf
Homemade, hearty whole-wheat bread just calls out for homegrown tomatoes and ripe avocado!

- 1 3⁄8 cups water
- 1⁄2 cup soy milk
- 5 cups whole-wheat flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. vital wheat gluten
- 2 Tbsp. vegan margarine
- 2 tsp. active dry yeast
- Assemble bread machine with the dough paddle in place. Bring all ingredients to room temperature.
- Add all ingredients to the pan in the order indicated in your machine’s operation manual. Proceed according to manufacturer’s directions for whole-wheat bread.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan. Cool bread completely before slicing. Store in an airtight container or freeze.
