Serves: 16

  • 1 package yeast
  • 3 oz. warm water
  • 1⁄2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1⁄2 cup cool water
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp. salt

  • Combine yeast with the warm water, sugar, and 1⁄2 cup of the flour. Let sit 10 minutes.
  • Add olive oil, cool water, salt, and 1 cup flour. Combine with a wooden spoon. Add remaining cup of flour; mix to form dough. Knead dough on a floured board for 5 minutes, adding flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  • Place dough in oiled bowl; cover. Let rise for 1 hour in a warm place. Punch down dough and divide in half. Roll the halves into balls and let rise, covered, for 1 hour. Dough is then ready to roll or stretch into pizza rounds, top, and bake.
